The DECE LE is a Diploma Entrance Competitive Examination (Lateral Entry) conducted by the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board. The exam is conducted for admission in 2nd year of Polytechnic.

DECE LE Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should fulfil the following eligibility criteria for taking admission in the 2nd year of diploma program

Candidates should successfully complete their class 12 (with Mathematics) or Class 12 Science stream with a specialization in technical or vocational course.
Candidates should have a 2 years of ITI or other appropriate specialization after class 10.
No age limit for admission
The candidates should also be medically fit to be eligible for the course. However, a medical test will be conducted to examine the candidates.

The board has the right to have some reservation criteria as per government norms
General Category: 50%
SC: 16%
ST: 1%
Extremely Backward Class: 18%
Backward Class: 12%
Reserved Category Girls: 3%

DECE LE Examination Pattern

The DECE LE is conducted in three sections covering Physics, Chemistry & Maths. The exam duration is 2 hours 15 minutes.

DECE LE Application Process

The DECE LE application forms are generally released in the month of April. The interested candidates can apply online by logging in to the official website https://bceceboard.bihar.gov.in

Firstly, the candidates are required to register on the website using their personal email id and mobile number. After successful registration, the candidates will receive a message regarding the registration no. and password. With the help of the id and password, the candidates will then have to fill in the online application form with proper and appropriate personal and educational details and also upload the scanned signature and recent passport size photo.

Lastly, get a printout of the computer generated application form, and hence along with the receipt of e-challan and other required documents the application should be speed post in a yellow envelop of 17 cm x 30 cm size to the following address -
