DCECE: Diploma Certificate Entrance Competitive Examination

The Bihar Polytechnic Entrance Exam also known as the Diploma Certificate Entrance Competitive Examination (DCECE) is a state level entrance examination for admission in various polytechnic courses offered by different polytechnic institutions and colleges of Bihar.

DCECE Eligibility Criteria

The candidates are required to fulfil certain criteria to get admission in different polytechnic courses:
General Eligibility:
  • He/she must be a citizen of India.
  • He/she should belong to the state of Bihar.
  • Those Candidates whose parents are a permanent residence of Bihar are also eligible to apply.

Eligibility for Polytechnic Engineering (PE) courses:

  • The candidates must have passed their class 10 board exam or other equivalent exam from a recognised board, securing a minimum of 35% marks.

  • There is no age limit for Polytechnic Engineering course.

Eligibility for Part-time Polytechnic Engineering (PPE) courses

  • The candidates must have passed their class 10 board exam or other equivalent exam from a recognised board, securing a minimum of 50% marks in Science and Mathematics separately.

  • The minimum age of the candidates should be 19 years as on 1st July of the year of admission.
Eligibility for Para Medical Dental (PMD) courses:
  • The candidates must have passed their class 10 board exam or other equivalent exam from a recognised board, with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as their main subjects. Those candidates who will appear for their 10th board in the year of DCECE are also eligible to apply.

  • The minimum age of the candidate should be 15 years and maximum age 30 years.
