Chanakya National Law University

A career in the legal field is one of the most lucrative careers among the youth in Bihar. However, shortage of trained and qualified professionals have increased the demand for good quality colleges. The Government of Bihar therefore felt the need of having a University that will provide quality legal education and raise legal standards among the youth who wants to take it up as a career. This gave birth to Chanakya National Law University (CNLU) at Patna on August 5, 2006 with Prof. Dr. A. Lakshminath as its first Vice chancellor. Number of retired Judges of the Supreme Court, High Courts and lower Judiciary came forward to help the University with their expertise.
