Bihar Public Service Commission - BPSC

The Bihar Public Service Commission commonly known as BPSC recruits eligible candidates to various administrative services in Bihar. The recruitment is done via common written examination which takes place in state level.

BPSC Recruitment 2018 Eligibility Criteria

The candidates are required to fulfil certain criteria to be eligible for BPSC 2018:

Qualification:

The candidates should have successfully completed their graduation in any of the discipline (Mechanical Engineering/ Geology/ Natural Science/ Economics/ Chemical engineering/ Civil Engineering/ Mathematics) from a recognized college or university.

Age:
The candidates should atleast be 37 years of age (general category), 40 years for OBC category candidates and 42 years for SC and ST category.

BPSC 2018 Exam Pattern

BPSC examination is divided into two different parts such as:

Preliminary examination:
The Preliminary examination is of 150 objective type questions with multiple choice options. Each question carries a total of 1 mark each.
Exam duration: 2 hours.

Main examination:
The Main examination is a written test of subjective type questions.

BPSC 2018 Selection Process

The selection process for BPSC 2018 is based completely on the scored attained in the written examination and personal interview.

The written test is of 1200 marks, with 4 different papers in the Main examination such as:
Hindi, General Studies, First Optional Paper and second optional paper

(i) Hindi: The applicants are required to score a minimum of 30 marks in Hindi.
(ii) General Studies: The general studies paper is divided into two different categories such as:
GS Paper I
GS Paper II
Total marks: 200
Duration: 3 hrs

The General Studies section is further divided into three different sections such as: (i) First Optional Paper and (ii) Second Optional Paper

First Optional Paper –
Paper 4 – paper I of First Optional subjects for 200 Marks
Paper 5 – paper II of First Optional subject for 200 Marks

Second Optional Paper –
Paper 6 – paper I of Second Optional Subject for 200 Marks
Paper 7 – paper II of Second Optional Subject for 200 Marks

BPSC 2018 Selection Process

Those who have passed Main examination and prelims need to move for Personal Interview. The final selection of the candidates is based in the basis of the marks attained in Prelims, main, and interview.

BPSC 2018 Admit Card

You are required to have the admit card along with you while moving to the examination hall. It is crucial to acquire hall ticket by downloading from the main website. Thus, download the admit card by entering your name and registration number and admit card will appear on the screen. It is important to take print out this card and carry it along with you to the examination centre.
