All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Patna
Officially known as Jayaprakash Narayan, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Patna was established in 2012 with a mission in excellence in patient care, teaching and training of world class professionals, and research. AIIMS Patna is a medical college and medical research public university based in Patna, Bihar and spread over an area of 134 acres, comprising the main medical college campus on 100 acres and residential campus on 34 acres. It is located in Bhusaula village, 8 km from Patna Town. AIIMS Patna which started its operations on 25 September 2012 is being mentored by AIIMS Delhi.
AIIMS Patna Infrastructure
AIIMS Patna is well developed hospital catering to approximately 1500 outpatients every day with each department having its own OPD. It now performs more than 250 surgeries per month. It is equipped with world class infrastructure with world class radiology with CT, MRI, Biplane DSA, Digital mammography, digital radiography, ultrasound with color doppler facilities. All the departments are equipped with wifi and their own research laboratories.
Nursing college is housed in a separate building and has been taking in 60 BSc nursing students per year, the first batch having completed its course.
Hostels are available for girls, boys separately with multiple mess and food plaza. All hostels are with wifi facility. Recreational facilities have developed over time and now include a world class gymnasium, cricket and football pitches, open playgrounds, badminton courts and indoor games.

NEET score as the primary admission criteria for students seeking admissions in UG programs at AIIMS Patna. Undergraduate students can pursue MBBS and B.Sc. (Nursing), while postgraduate students can pursue M.Sc (Nursing), Broad Specialty (DM, MCH), or Super Specialty. For more details see

Research in AIIMS Patna
The Research Section at AIIMS was established to promote a vibrant research culture in the institute, train faculty, students and scientists in research methodology, and facilitate world class research at the institute. It is the nodal facilitator point for supporting research at AIIMS.
One of the administrative functions is to coordinate the activities of extramural research projects funded by various national/international agencies like ICMR, DST, DBT, CSIR, Ministry of Health & F.W., WHO etc.
